Motivation for award: Ryan’s comment was “Umkomaas Lodge is one of the most beautiful destinations on the KZN South Coast. The lodge is literally right on the beach. The rooms are clean and the views are spectacular. Waking up to those uninterrupted panoramic sea views in the morning and watching the dolphins and whales while you lie in bed is just some of the perks the establishment has to offer. Its one of the reasons why KZN is such a cool place to visit, hidden gems like these places make it so worthwhile visiting KZN. The prices for the lodge is also very affordable, with all the amenities on offer including a fridge in the room, tea and coffee making facilities and a microwave. There’s also a braai area outside with tables and benches so families can just chill and relax while soaking up that amazing view from the braai area. The rooms are so well maintained and the service is just excellent. Honestly one of the most underrated destinations along the coast.”

Umkomaas Lodge gets my vote, as it’s one of the most enjoyable holidays I have been on. I usually look for budget-friendly places that offer the most value for money but this place far exceeds all expectations. The view of the beach from the rooms is just superb, and the atmosphere of the little town of Umkomaas is just generally very inviting and laid back. A very nice place to chill and unwind, Umkomaas Lodge for the win!
