Local Tourism Bureau and information centre in Stilbaai, Western Cape. As a private community organisation we promote tourism, support over 50 local artists and crafters at our local arts and craft shop “Die Kontreiwinkel” with an art gallery. We also host the only tame eels in South Africa at the Bureau. They are hand-fed daily by the staff at 11:00. The organisation first open it’s doors in 1992 and is financially supported by the community and with entrance fees generated by the eel feeding.

Stilbaai and surrounds are the best . All stress starts to lift the moment you take the turn-off from the Garden Route. Driving past Melkhoutfontein around the bend in the road and seeing the mouth of the river is a true home coming experience. Please keep the R1000 and put it towards development in Stilbaai.
