Spier Hotel, situated on the historic Stellenbosch wine farm, is the ideal family-friendly location from which to explore the Cape Winelands. Spier, which has been ranked within the top 100 vineyards in the world, houses one of South Africa’s largest contemporary art collections, and offers a variety of restaurants and award-winning wines. The village-style hotel – reminiscent of a quaint village – caters to guests’ every need, from rest and relaxation to adventures for kids and adults. The rooms are clustered around six courtyards, each with its own swimming pool.
Type: Accommodation – Hotel
Category: Child Friendly
Motivation for award: Spier is a premier destination for families wanting to travel without compromising quality. The hotel has interleading rooms so older children can stay close, and all of our hotel rooms can accommodate two children under the age of 12 in roll-out beds or cots. We offer age-appropriate toy boxes on arrival and an exclusive Kids’ Clubhouse where we provide secure child services for your little ones aged 3-12 while they participate in crafts, farm walks, scavenger hunts, baking cookies and storytime. Enthral your kids at our Elemental Play Garden or introduce them to raptors at Eagle Encounters rehabilitation centre. Let them explore the farm on a kid’s bike available from reception, or head to the historic werf where the boulders and trees make the best playground. Our Tasting Room, overlooking the dam, offers a grape juice tasting experience for kids, which includes two different grape juices, a lucky packet, and an educational activity sheet. Children’s menus are available in all of Spier’s restaurants. A babysitting service is also available. At Spier, the little ones truly are VIPs, so while you’re tasting award-winning wine or being pampered at the spa, you can rest easy knowing your children are having fun and making friends.
