Raggy Charters’ cruise is unique and there are a number of things that set us apart from other operators. Operating in Algoa Bay which is diverse in wild life species and rich in history. We are a small organisation who’s main focus is education, conservation and assisting in research which is all made possible by the funds generated from conducting Marine-Eco Cruises. We visit St Croix Island and Bird Island Groups and run our cruises once a day, this ensures that our skippers and guides are fresh and fully alert for every cruise and spend a bit more time and effort searching for wildlife and observing something special that we come across provided that no one on board is in a rush to get back. We use smaller boats over large boats so as to keep our cruises personal, with two guides on board each of our cruises to answer any questions and see to the needs of our Guests. Light refreshments and snacks are served during the cruises but guests are more than welcome to bring with your own snacks and refreshments. This cruise is a unique experience and our team will try make it a most enjoyable trip. To balance our Carbon Footprint, at least one tree is planted for every cruise.
Motivation for award: We offer Marine-Eco Cruises and offer Sustainable Tourism – this is of the utmost importance. Tourism needs to become sustainable and that is what the rest of the world are looking for – operations and guest houses etc that are operating sustainably.
