My husband bought timeshare for an October week at Ngwenya over 15 years ago. We have enjoyed our peaceful week in beautiful surroundings and gardens every year since then. Now that he is retired, we have bought a second week in May to experience a different season. The Ngwenya resort is well managed with reasonable levies, and is very convenient for day trips into the Kruger National Park. Otherwise just chill out at the various swimming pools, have a game of mini-golf, enjoy games in the games room or have a refreshing drink or something to eat on the viewing deck that overlooks the Crocodile river.

The drive around Swaziland is long and tiring, however arriving at Ngwenya is always a delightful experience. For the past 19 years there has always been major improvements or upgrades, the staff deliver the friendly service we have come to expect. A holiday destination that improves annually, congratulations to the management. On our last visit we had an nasty experience on a Sunday evening when the shower bowl filled with smelly liquid, an after hours number was called, within an hour a plumber had rectified the problem and the lady with him had thoroughly cleaned and disinfected the bathroom. Professional and efficient staff(from the cleaners/gardeners to management) – always friendly and willing to help and the resort in toto is kept always neat and clean and the pristine gardens a feast for the eyes. 2. We enjoy the Kruger Park from the stoep of our river-front unit – you do not even have to enter the Park to see all the different game species including four of the the Big Five. Over the past 10 years we have seen four of the Big Five, different species of antelope, crocodiles, hippos and a variety of bird species and, as well as an amazing view of the Park across the Crocodile river during a single week from the patio of our river-fronting unit.

We have been going to Ngwenya since 2007 and have always enjoyed a fantastic stay. Units are well maintained and the whole resort is always neat and tidy with lawns mowed regularly. The staff are also so helpful. The bonus is the close proximity to Crocodile Bridge gate but we have also had wonderful sightings both from the restaurant area as well as the unit.

Having been a shareholder for over 20 years ,Ngwenya is the holiday we NEVER spacebank. From the original unpaved road leading to reception, a roaming young elephant bull at night,Hippo and Crocs in the main pond/dam captured our hearts and sole as the resort it should be. The improvements over the years has elevated Ngwenya to the holiday resort most sort of for a family breakaway . From our viewing deck at lodge 300 we have experienced sightings of lion ,leopard ,Rhino , herds of elephant and buffalo most antelope and Hippo fighting for dominance. It is truly Africa at its best with the luxury of not having to spend endless hours in a vehicle. All in all an experience of a lifetime.

Last year, a couple in our party used the sleeper couch and said it was unbelievably comfortable. We go into the Kruger National Park twice during our timeshare week and after a lovely day there, what a joy to return to Ngwenya, our refuge and delight, to sit and braai on the verandah, to listen to the hippos and to simply watch the River as it lazes by. Ngwenya has been my family holiday destination since 2009, I was seven then. I’m turning 20 this year and there is still no better place! My grandmother’s first time at Ngwenya was when there were only SIX houses. I don’t think I can imagine Ngwenya that small, and hearing how it has grown warms my heart. We go there every December – we tried one year going to a different place and ended up back in January at Ngwenya because we haven’t ‘rested’ at our rest place. I have scars from playing as a young child in the pool, images of the beautiful sunsets from our ‘stoep’ and the absolute best memories from the adventures in Ngwenya and in the Kruger National Park. I can’t even think about one single complaint, except that I would want to stay longer! The staff is just as amazing. From the gate guard to the cleaning lady, nothing but smiles!! I can say with complete honesty that Ngwenya is my home away from home, and I will forever be a returning customer.

One of our all time favourites places to visit. The units are always beautifully presented and the maintenance and continuous upgrading of the whole resort is a great reason to own timeshare at Ngwenya. The staff are friendly and accommodating and obviously well trained in caring for their guests. Needless to say that the views from their riverside cottages are breathtaking. An exceptional resort.
