Motivation for award: The Chokka Trail offers the hiker the opportunity to spend time in nature while all their needs are taken care of. The hike is guided, luggage is transported to the next overnight point and all meals are provided. You only hike with a small backpack which makes it possible for senior hikers to still hike and opens the experience to novice hikers as well. It is far more than just a hike, as it highlights the best experiences of the area as well – canal cruise, lighthouse visit and calamari tasting. Accommodation is in top class establishments known for their food experiences.

The Chokka Trail is 4 day/3 night slackpack hiking trail in the greater St Francis area, Eastern Cape over 62km.
Highlights of the trail is a canal cruise, visit to the Seal Point Lighthouse and Port St Francis where you will enjoy a calamari tasting.
The Chokka Trail has won the National Lilizela Award for Best Visitors Experience for 4 consecutive years.
