Canefields Country Hotel is a hidden gem on KwaZulu-Natal North Coast. Initially built on sugar cane farm land in the 1970s, its roots go much further back. The young couple that decided to put down the brick and mortar come from third and fourth generation pioneer sugar farm families who came to Zululand around the turn of the century. Still today Canefields is surrounded by lovely lush fields of cane.

Later on, when the family sold, it changed hands and the idea was to turn it into an exclusive guest house. It has evolved since then to become a venue of choice for many different sectors; corporate, business, private and families. Guests come to Canefields to enjoy a meal. Tourists stop for lunch while traveling to Northern game reserves and beyond. Corporate businesses hold their team building events here and sales representatives can log-in, work on the go and education establishments host their initiation and introductory get togethers here as well.
