Monkeyland-KZN is a 23-hectare forest sanctuary for rescued exotic primates and the largest free-roaming multi-species primate sanctuary in Africa. Our primates were raised in captivity, mainly in zoos or as people's pets; they come to us when they are no longer wanted or if they have been confiscated. At Monkeyland-KZN, they have the opportunity to live in a semi-wild environment where they can roam freely through the 23 hectares, form troops, forage for food and live as close to a natural life as we can create. Monkeyland-KZN is their safe forever home. Visitors to the sanctuary are taken on a short drive on a safari vehicle from our reception to our hidden forest.
